Issues related to ties with the EAEU and other countries in the region as outlined in the 2021 RA state budget were discussed

On November 5, during a joint session of the RA NA Standing Committees on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs and on Regional and Eurasian Integration, chaired by Arkady Khachatryan and Mikayel Melkumyan, issues related to ties with the EAEU and other countries in the region as outlined in the RA Law “On the 2021 RA State Budget” were discussed.

RA Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Shavarsh Kocharyan addressed the Azerbaijani-Turkish-terrorist aggression against the Republic of Artsakh and emphasized that the solution to the primary problem lies on the battlefield, as every country has its enduring values that concern everyone. “Relying on the hope that any country might fight for you is destructive. We must resolve our own issues,” the Deputy Minister stated.

According to him, work with EAEU countries, as well as with Georgia and Iran, continued in 2020 and will proceed in 2021. The Deputy Minister emphasized that our country’s relations with the latter two states have experienced no setbacks.

RA Minister of Economy Tigran Khachatryan emphasized that professional work is being carried out within the framework of the EAEU. In 2021, the free trade agreement with Serbia will be implemented, which will create favorable conditions for the Armenian side to sell goods in that country that are competitive in the international market. In 2021, work related to the conclusion of free trade agreements with Singapore, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Egypt will continue.

The speakers also answered questions from the members of parliament.
